Goddess Beiwe

Finnish spring deity Beiwe.

Beiwe was revered by the Sami people of Finland as the goddess of spring and mental clarity.

  • She is the sun's and fertility's power, allowing plants to flourish and therefore humanity's existence.
  • Beiwe is the one who drives the winter away and restores sanity to people who have been lost in the gloom of the season.
  • Her devotees make white animal sacrifices and butter their doorposts to feed her during her spring celebration.
  • The reindeer is Beiwe's holy animal
