New Zealand's great goddess.

Hine is the darker side of Hina and is regarded as a deity in her own right in New Zealand tradition.

Hine is revered as the ancestral goddess from whom all life originates and to whom all life returns after death.

She is the ruler of night and the underworld in particular, as well as arts and crafts in general.

Hina is a deity with many faces who resides on the moon and travels by following the rainbow road.

Her two heads represent the light and dark sides of the human psyche, as well as day and night.

Hine is the darker side of Hina and is regarded as a deity in her own right in New Zealand tradition.

Hina is renowned as the Butterfly Goddess, who inspires her worshipers with spiritual lessons and creative thoughts.

She gives life back to the dead and encourages men and women to communicate positively.

Throughout Polynesian tradition, she is recognized by a variety of names and features.

Goddess Apakura



Apakura is a Polynesian family goddess. 


  • She is a Maori mother goddess who has many children and devotes herself to educating her sons the way to greatness, knowledge, and triumph. 
  • Apakura is a serious goddess who personifies home and family, as well as the power and support that comes from personal relationships. 
  • Apakura's evil side is the Vengeful Mother, who demands that her children revenge their brother's unjust murder.
