Goddess Sedna

 


Inuit goddess of the underworld, Sedna.

Sedna is in charge of the ocean's depths and the water animals that live there.

Her father sacrificed her, and her dismembered body parts transformed into seals, whales, and walruses as she fell to the bottom of the sea.

Sedna is revered as the mother of the hunt and a goddess of perseverance in Inuit civilization since these animals are essential for existence.

She resides at the bottom of the ocean in the underworld and has control over life and death.

Goddess Pukkeenegak

 



Pukkeenegak: Inuit goddess of the home.

Pukkeenegak is revered by the Inuit as a goddess of the hearth and home.

She is in charge of all household activities, including sewing and cooking.

She controls all phases of pregnancy, including conception and labor, as a goddess of birthing.

Goddess Pinga

 


Inuit deity of protection, Pinga.

Pinga is revered among Inuits as the keeper of souls, since she transports the departed to the afterlife.

As the goddess of the hunt and wild animals, she produced medicine to treat the ill and provides nourishment.
