Goddess Dewi Nawang Sasih

Goddess Dewi Nawang Sasih is Indonesia's rice goddess.

Dewi Nawang Sasih, according to the Sundanese people of Indonesia, gave them rice as a gift.

She taught women how to multiply one grain of rice into many, with the caveat that no male should ever touch a woman's cooking tools.

One of the guys, believing himself to be superior, defied her and touched an instrument.

Dewi Nawang Sasih, enraged, departed the world, taking with her the ability to reproduce rice.
