Goddess Tsovinar

 


Tsovinar is an Armenian goddess of fire and water.

Tsovinar, who was born of fire, is the goddess of heat and warmth, as well as water and rain.

She is a temperamental divinity who frightens heaven's waters and sends them to earth, causing the Great Flood.

Nuneh is the Armenian goddess of the hearth and the household.

Nuneh is the family's and household's protector; she looks after youngsters and the elderly.

She is a sensible goddess who bestows practical wisdom and common sense to petitioners.

Goddess Astghik



Armenian goddess of love, Astghik. 


  • All bodies of water are ruled by Astghik, the goddess of beauty and love. 
  • By sprinkling rosewater over the soil, she brings love and fertility across Armenia. 
  • In June, she has a celebration when people release doves and shower water on each other in her honor. 
  • Her petitioners present her with flowers.
