Vellamo, who is depicted as a mermaid, is the ruler of the seas and rivers.

She is a master seductress, capable of luring men and gods into illicit relationships.

She is the mistress of fish and the sea's power.

Thalassa is the ocean's primordial essence.

Her body and womb are thought to be the sea itself, and she is the mother of fish and sea mammals.

Goddess Sedna

 


Inuit goddess of the underworld, Sedna.

Sedna is in charge of the ocean's depths and the water animals that live there.

Her father sacrificed her, and her dismembered body parts transformed into seals, whales, and walruses as she fell to the bottom of the sea.

Sedna is revered as the mother of the hunt and a goddess of perseverance in Inuit civilization since these animals are essential for existence.

She resides at the bottom of the ocean in the underworld and has control over life and death.

Goddess Matsu Or Tian Hou, Or Mazu, Or Tien Hou

 




Matsu (also Tian Hou, Mazu, Tien Hou) is a Chinese sea goddess.

Matsu is revered by Eastern Asians and Taoists as the ocean and the protector of fishermen and sailors.

She is a divinity of enormous compassion and generosity who spreads peace over the earth.

In certain cultures, she is also known as the Queen of Heaven, who keeps the universe's masculine and feminine forces in balance.

Mama Cocha, also known as Cochamama: Incan sea goddess.

Mama Cocha was revered by the Incans as the mother of the ocean and all its animals.

She guards fishermen and sailors and bestows bountiful benefits on anybody who earns a life off the sea.
