Mayan goddess of suicide, Ixtab.
Suicide was an accepted way to die in Mayan civilization, because it would lead to the eternal paradise.
Ixtab is the custodian of the souls of warriors and women
who died in childbirth, as well as those who murdered themselves by hanging.
She is the one who leads the souls to paradise and looks
after them.
Ixtab's seductress duty required her to mate with young,
mortal males who, after tasting her, would become mad and yearn for her
devotion for the rest of their lives.
With a rope around her neck, she is shown as a dead and
rotting lady.
