Saranyu is a Hindu animal deity.
Saranyu is the mother of all animals, mythical and otherwise.
She is the sun deity Surya's spouse and is adored as the
clouds and dawn.
She changed herself into a horse and fled when she became
bored of the sky and her husband.
Saranyu is often represented with mare-like characteristics.
