Pestilence, sin, and sickness, especially STDs, are all controlled by Tlazolteotl.
She also has jurisdiction over sexual offenses such as
adultery and rape.
She is the Dark Maiden, who both inspires and cleanses sin.
Tlazolteotl's priests purified those who confessed their
wrongdoings in a rebirthing ritual; those who lied were sentenced to death.
Tozi and Teteoinnan form a triad with her.
